Welcome and Introduction

The programme commenced with a warm welcome to the resource person, faculty members and students.

Dr. A. Annalakshmi was welcomed as the resource person for the session. Following the introduction, she addressed the students on the importance of developing strong values and maintaining them throughout life.

The session encouraged students to understand that education should contribute not only to academic knowledge but also to the development of character, responsibility and ethical behaviour.

Values as the Foundation for Success

Speaking on the topic “வாழ்க்கையின் வெற்றிக்கு மதிப்புகளே அடித்தளம்”, Dr. A. Annalakshmi explained that academic knowledge alone is not sufficient for achieving meaningful success.

She emphasized that good values, discipline, responsibility, honesty, respect and empathy play an important role in shaping a successful personality.

Moreover, values influence the way individuals make decisions, interact with others and respond to challenges. Therefore, developing strong values during student life can create a firm foundation for future personal and professional growth.

Discipline and Punctuality in Student Life

The resource person highlighted the importance of discipline and punctuality.

Students were encouraged to develop regular habits, respect time and fulfil their academic responsibilities sincerely. Discipline can help students remain focused and work steadily towards their goals.

Furthermore, punctuality and consistency are important not only during college life but also in future professional environments.

Honesty and Integrity

Honesty and integrity formed another important part of the session.

Students were encouraged to remain truthful in their personal, academic and future professional lives. The resource person explained that integrity helps individuals earn trust and maintain strong relationships.

Therefore, students were encouraged to make responsible choices even when they face difficult situations.

Respect, Empathy and Kindness

The Value Education Awareness session emphasized the importance of showing respect towards parents, teachers, peers and society.

At the same time, students were encouraged to develop empathy and kindness towards others. Understanding another person’s feelings and difficulties can help create healthier relationships and a more supportive environment.

Furthermore, respectful behaviour and empathy contribute to effective teamwork and positive social interaction.

Responsibility and Accountability

Students were encouraged to take responsibility for their actions and decisions.

The resource person explained that responsible individuals understand their duties and accept accountability for the choices they make. This attitude can help students become more independent and mature.

Moreover, responsibility is essential in academic life, professional environments and society.

Positive Thinking and Self-Confidence

The programme also highlighted the role of positive thinking and self-confidence in facing challenges.

Students may encounter difficulties during their academic journey and later in their careers. Therefore, they were encouraged to approach challenges with confidence and a constructive attitude.

Positive thinking does not remove difficulties. However, it can help individuals respond to challenges with greater confidence, patience and determination.

Time Management and Commitment

Effective time management was discussed as an important value for students.

Students were encouraged to plan their academic responsibilities carefully and use their time productively. Moreover, commitment towards studies can help them maintain consistent progress and avoid unnecessary pressure.

Developing these habits during college life can also prepare students for the responsibilities of professional life.

Teamwork and Cooperation

The session emphasized the importance of teamwork and cooperation in both educational and professional environments.

Students were encouraged to respect different opinions, communicate effectively and work together towards common goals.

Furthermore, the ability to cooperate with others is valuable in academic projects, workplace environments and community activities. Therefore, teamwork contributes significantly to personal and professional development.

Ethical Behaviour and Social Responsibility

Ethical behaviour was another major theme of the programme.

The resource person encouraged students to understand their responsibilities as members of society. They were reminded that personal success should go together with ethical conduct and social responsibility.

Students were therefore encouraged to make responsible decisions, respect others and contribute positively to society.

Practising Values in Everyday Life

An important message of the programme was that values should not remain merely as theoretical concepts.

Instead, students should practise them in their everyday lives through their behaviour, decisions, relationships and responsibilities.

The resource person encouraged students to develop good habits, maintain positive relationships and make thoughtful decisions. As a result, values can gradually become a natural part of their personality.

Interactive Learning and Self-Reflection

The interactive nature of the session encouraged students to reflect on their own attitudes, behaviour and responsibilities.

Self-reflection helps individuals identify their strengths and recognize areas that require improvement. Therefore, students were encouraged to examine their daily habits and consider how positive values could guide their actions.

The session also helped them understand how strong moral and human values can contribute to individual growth, career success and a harmonious society.
