Introduction

The Placement Cell and Training Department of Kamaraj Women’s College, Thoothukudi, organized an impactful Orientation Programme on Interview Etiquette and Selection Criteria on 16th September 2025 at the KWC Seminar Hall. The session, held between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., aimed to prepare students for professional interviews and equip them with essential skills for future career opportunities. S. Chitra from III B.Com (Banking and Finance) served as the Master of Ceremony, introducing the objective of the programme and emphasizing the importance of professional etiquette.

Welcome Address

The event began with a warm welcome address delivered by M. Sakthi Ranjana of III B.Com (Banking and Finance). She greeted the dignitaries, faculty members, resource person, and participants. Her words created a positive atmosphere and set the right tone for an informative and interactive session.

Dignitaries on the Dais

The orientation programme was honored by the presence of respected dignitaries. Dr. M. Vanmathi, Principal of Kamaraj Women’s College, and Mr. R. Muthuselvam, Correspondent, graced the event. The staff coordinators included Dr. E. Esakkiammal and Mrs. M. Gowsi Bawani. The session featured Dr. V. Gopalakrishnan, Head and Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce (SF), Kamaraj College (Autonomous), Thoothukudi, as the esteemed resource person.

About the Session

The session conducted by Dr. V. Gopalakrishnan was highly engaging and informative. He pointed out common mistakes students should avoid, such as lack of preparation and poor presentation. Moreover, he detailed the criteria employers consider during the selection process. A brief valedictory session followed. Dr. M. Vanmathi, Principal of Kamaraj Women’s College, expressed appreciation for the valuable insights shared by the resource person.
