The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Kamaraj Women’s College, Thoothukudi, successfully organized a Five-Day Students Induction Programme from 15 June 2026 to 19 June 2026. The programme was designed to help newly admitted students become familiar with the academic environment, institutional values, student support systems, and various opportunities available on the campus.
The Students Induction Programme provided a comprehensive introduction to college life. Moreover, it enabled students to understand academic expectations, extracurricular opportunities, career prospects, and personal development initiatives. As a result, the programme helped freshers begin their academic journey with confidence and enthusiasm.
Inaugural Session and Department Orientation
The first day of the Students Induction Programme commenced with a prayer song followed by a welcome address. Subsequently, Dr. M. Vanmathi, Principal, delivered an inspiring introductory speech and explained the objectives of the programme.
Furthermore, all the Heads of Departments introduced their respective departments and explained the academic structure, departmental activities, and important rules to be followed by students on the college campus. The orientation helped students gain clarity about their courses and institutional expectations.
During the afternoon session, the Departments of English and Tamil conducted a Proficiency Test to assess the basic language and grammar skills of the students. This activity helped identify the learning needs of students and supported future skill development initiatives.
Skill Development and Yoga Session
From the second day onwards, one hour was allocated to the Departments of English and Tamil to conduct skill development programmes. These sessions focused on improving communication skills, language proficiency, and overall academic preparedness.
The forenoon session of the second day was handled by Mrs. C. Dhanalakshmi, Yoga Instructor. She conducted practical sessions on yoga and relaxation techniques that promoted mental wellness, concentration, and stress management.
