Top 10 Highlights of the State Level Seminar on Fashion Technology at Kamaraj Women’s College
Introduction
The Department of Fashion Technology, Kamaraj Women’s College, successfully organized a State Level Seminar on 25th August 2025. The seminar created an excellent platform for students, academicians, and professionals to explore the latest trends and developments in the fashion and textile industry. It also encouraged active learning and knowledge exchange among participants.
Welcome and Inauguration
The seminar began with a warm welcome address by Ms. K. R. Rameesha. She greeted the dignitaries, resource persons, faculty, and participants with enthusiasm. Following this, Ms. S. Ruth Geofina delivered the inaugural address. The dignitaries then performed the traditional lamp lighting ceremony to mark the auspicious beginning of the event. This created an inspiring atmosphere and set the tone for the day.

Technical Session I: Start Up Your Fashion Label
The first technical session was handled by Ms. Dhivya, Fashion Facilitator at Cinderbay School of Design. She explained the core steps to launch a fashion label. The session covered branding, market research, business strategies, and creativity. Her talk motivated aspiring fashion designers to turn their ideas into successful businesses. Participants also interacted actively during the Q&A session. They discussed real-life challenges faced by young entrepreneurs in the fashion industry. The session was inspiring and practical at the same time.
Technical Session II: Fiber to Fabric
The second session was conducted by Ms. R. Keerthiga, Manufacturing Executive at Madura Coats Private Limited. She explained the complete process of transforming fibers into fabrics. The session highlighted innovations, sustainability, and industry practices. Students gained deeper knowledge about textile fibers, material science, and their applications in modern fashion design. The discussion also included sustainable methods that help protect the environment. The session ended with an interactive discussion where participants shared ideas and doubts.
Valedictory Session
The valedictory session was led by Ms. S. Ruth Geofina. She praised the resource persons for their insightful sessions and encouraged students to apply the learning in their academic and professional journey. A corporate walk by the students of Standard Fireworks Rajarathinam College added charm to the closing session. Certificates and shields were then distributed to the participants as a recognition of their active involvement.
Vote of Thanks
The vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. Dharshini. She expressed gratitude to the college management, resource persons, participants, and the organizing committee. Her words highlighted the collective effort that made the seminar a remarkable success.
Participation and Impact
The seminar witnessed enthusiastic participation from across the state. A total of 110 participants from various colleges took part, including students from Fathima College Madurai, Standard Fireworks Rajarathinam College Sivakasi, and Arunachala Arts and Science College Nagercoil. In addition, around 180 students from Kamaraj Women’s College attended the sessions. This large participation reflected the popularity and importance of the seminar. The seminar not only enriched the participants with fresh knowledge but also created an excellent networking platform. It successfully bridged the gap between classroom learning and industry practices in fashion technology.
