Leadership Workshop Builds Career-Ready Skills at KWC

Report on “Ignite Your Leadership” Workshop

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Kamaraj Women’s College, Thoothukudi, organized a Leadership Workshop titled “Ignite Your Leadership” on 28 September 2026 at 10.00 a.m. in the KWC Seminar Hall. Final-year students from all departments participated in the programme.

The workshop focused on the theme “Leadership Development for Career Readiness.” It aimed to develop essential leadership qualities, self-confidence and career-ready skills among students. Moreover, the programme combined theoretical learning with practical activities to prepare students for challenges in their future professional lives.

Objectives of the Leadership Workshop

The programme focused on the following objectives:

• Develop essential leadership qualities among final-year students
• Build self-confidence and career-ready skills
• Introduce students to leadership styles
• Strengthen communication and decision-making skills
• Improve time management and goal-setting abilities
• Develop observation and memory skills
• Promote teamwork and coordination
• Strengthen problem-solving abilities

Thus, the workshop combined leadership development, practical skills, teamwork and career readiness.

Inaugural Session

The programme commenced with the Tamil Thai Vazhthu.

Following this, Ms. Anitha of III B.Com. (Banking & Finance) delivered the Welcome Address and warmly welcomed the gathering.

Dr. M. Vanmathi, Principal, Kamaraj Women’s College, then delivered the Felicitation Address.

In her address, she highlighted the importance of leadership in today’s competitive world. Furthermore, she encouraged students to view leadership as a life skill and not merely a career skill.

Her message set the tone for the technical and practical sessions that followed.

Resource Persons

The technical sessions were handled by:

• Dr. S. Uma Maheswari, Professor, VIMS, Coimbatore
• Dr. P. Kowsalya, Associate Professor, VIMS, Coimbatore

The Resource Persons combined theoretical inputs with practical activities throughout the workshop.

The Leadership Workshop “Ignite Your Leadership” organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Kamaraj Women’s College provided final-year students with a practical and engaging learning experience.

Dr. S. Uma Maheswari and Dr. P. Kowsalya guided students through leadership concepts, communication, decision-making, time management, goal setting and practical activities. Moreover, the games and interactive exercises helped participants understand leadership through direct experience.

The programme achieved its objective of helping students recognize their leadership potential while strengthening their confidence, teamwork and career-ready skills.

The programme concluded with the National Anthem. The IQAC expressed its gratitude to the Management, Principal, Resource Persons, faculty members and students for their support and active participation.
