7 Powerful Highlights from International Seminar on Cross Cultural Business Leaders
Introduction
The Department of Commerce, Kamaraj Women’s College, successfully organised the International Seminar on Cross Cultural Business Leaders on 25th September 2025 at 10.00 a.m. The seminar provided an inspiring platform to explore global business trends, export markets, MSME growth, and procurement strategies.
This International Seminar on Cross Cultural Business Leaders offered students and academicians valuable insights into international business practices and the dynamics of a competitive global market. It encouraged innovative thinking and strategic approaches to global business management.
Renowned experts shared their real-world experiences and practical knowledge. Mr. K. Selvam discussed export competitiveness and logistics optimization; Mrs. Vijayalakshmi Duraisamy focused on data-driven innovation in global business; Dr. K. Siva Murugan examined MSME growth opportunities; and Dr. C. Jameslyn Vithya provided insights into global sourcing and procurement practices. The event also promoted professional networking among scholars, industry experts, and students.
Inaugural Session
The International Seminar on Cross Cultural Business Leaders began with a prayer song by III B.Com (BF) students, followed by a warm welcome from Ms. M. Sakthi Ranjana, Chairman of Surabhi Commerce Association. The ceremonial lighting of the kuthuvilakku symbolized the auspicious beginning of the day.
Dr. Banumathi, Principal of Kamaraj College, delivered the felicitation address, while Dr. M. Vanmathi, Principal of Kamaraj Women’s College, gave the presidential address. Dr. P. Aruna Devi, Head of the Department of Commerce, introduced the distinguished speakers. The session concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Ms. M. Aathi, III B.Com (BF).
Technical Sessions
The seminar featured four insightful technical sessions that addressed various aspects of international business and leadership.
Session I: “Gaining a Competitive Advantage in Export Markets” – Mr. K. Selvam, Assistant General Manager, Indian Shipping & Logistics Facility Pvt. Ltd., Thoothukudi, highlighted strategies for enhancing export competitiveness and optimizing logistics for better global reach.
Session II: “Inspiring the Next Wave of Global Business Innovators” – Conducted by Mrs. Vijayalakshmi Duraisamy, Management Consultant in Data Analytics, Texas, USA, this session emphasized innovation, data analytics, and technological adaptation for sustainable business growth.
Session III: “Challenges and Prospects of Export: Lead Growth for MSMEs” – Dr. K. Siva Murugan, Faculty–Research Associate, ICAI, Hyderabad, discussed policy challenges, financing, and export-led growth opportunities for MSMEs in domestic and global markets.
Session IV: “Global Sourcing and Procurement Overview” – Delivered by Dr. C. Jameslyn Vithya, Assistant Professor, The American College, Madurai, she offered insights into modern procurement systems, supply chain management, and international sourcing practices.
Valedictory Session
The valedictory session of the International Seminar on Cross Cultural Business Leaders began with a welcome speech by Ms. S. Chitra, III B.Com (BF). Dr. M. Vanmathi, Principal, Kamaraj Women’s College, delivered the valedictory address, emphasizing the importance of cross-cultural competence in shaping future business leaders.
Certificates were distributed to participants, and feedback was gathered to evaluate the seminar’s success. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. S. Vaishnavi, II B.Com (BF), followed by the National Anthem.
Conclusion
