Alumni Interaction Programme

The Alumni Interaction Programme organized by the Department of Microbiology, Kamaraj Women’s College, Thoothukudi, under the banner of the Almeida Microbiology Association, was successfully conducted on 29th January 2026 at 12.00 p.m. in the KWC Projector Hall. First, the programme aimed to strengthen the bond between alumni and current students. At the same time, it sought to provide career guidance, motivation, and real-life insights from an accomplished alumna. As a result, the event created a meaningful learning experience for all participants.

Objectives of the Alumni Interaction Programme

The primary objectives of the Alumni Interaction Programme were to promote mentorship, inspire students, and bridge the gap between academic learning and professional practice. Specifically, the programme aimed to:

Inaugural Session and Welcome Address

Initially, the programme commenced with a prayer, invoking divine blessings for the success of the event. Subsequently, one of the student coordinators delivered a warm welcome address. During the address, the coordinator welcomed the gathering, dignitaries, faculty members, and students. Moreover, the importance of alumni interaction in shaping students’ academic and professional growth was highlighted. As a result, the audience clearly understood the significance of the programme.

Purpose and Significance of Alumni Engagement

Furthermore, the purpose of the programme was explained briefly. In particular, the role of alumni as mentors and role models was emphasized. The highlight of the Alumni Interaction Programme was the address by the resource person, Ms. S. Hamitha Hasrin, an alumna of Kamaraj Women’s College.
