Kamaraj Women’s College, Department of Commerce and Banking & Finance, organized a Value-Added Course titled “Thevaram and the Cultivation of Compassion, Discipline, and Devotion”, aimed at enriching students’ inner character and cultural awareness through spiritual and literary traditions.

The course was inaugurated by Mrs. N. Vasumathi, M.Phil., M.A., a SKY Professor, who served as the first resource person. With her insightful delivery, she emphasized how devotional hymns like Thevaram can positively shape attitudes, instill moral discipline, and foster a compassionate mindset among the youth.

This 30-hour course commenced on July 14, 2025, and was attended with enthusiasm by final-year students from the Departments of Commerce, Microbiology, and Fashion Technology. The sessions were interactive and thought-provoking, encouraging students to reflect on the values embedded in ancient Tamil literature.

Through this initiative, the college aims to bridge traditional wisdom with modern learning, ensuring that students grow not just academically, but also spiritually and emotionally.
