Department of Commerce and Banking & Finance Organises Guest Lecture on “Role of a Company Secretary in Modern Corporate Governance”

The Department of Commerce and Banking & Finance at Kamaraj Women’s College, Thoothukudi, organized a guest lecture on January 7, 2025, titled “Role of a Company Secretary in Modern Corporate Governance.” The resource persons for the event included CS S. Ramalingam, Vice Chairman of the Madurai Chapter of ICSI, CS S. Paramasivam, Company Secretary at Preethi Hospital and Treasurer of the Madurai Chapter of ICSI, and Shri T. Raja, In-charge of the Madurai Chapter of ICSI. The speakers highlighted the crucial role of a company secretary in corporate governance, the pathway to becoming a company secretary, and the pay scale associated with this profession. A total of 96 students participated in the informative session, gaining valuable insights into the responsibilities and career prospects of a company secretary in the corporate world.
