The Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) Cell of Kamaraj Women’s College, Thoothukudi, in collaboration with Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital, organized an Eye Check-up Camp at Perurani Village on 25 August 2026 at 10.00 a.m. The programme aimed to provide basic eye screening facilities to the rural community and create awareness about the importance of regular eye examinations.

The camp particularly benefited 100 Days Employment Scheme workers, cleaning workers, members of the public and Panchayat Office employees. Moreover, it brought essential eye-care services closer to people who may have limited opportunities to undergo regular eye examinations.

Inauguration of the Eye Check-up Camp

T. Ranjith, M.A., MSW, M.Sc. (Psy.), M.Phil., PGDGC, Block Development Officer (Panchayat), Thoothukudi, inaugurated the programme.

The camp was organized under the guidance of Dr. P. Aruna Devi, UBA Coordinator, Kamaraj Women’s College. The collaboration between the UBA Cell, local administration and the medical team helped make eye-care services accessible to the village community.
