Bharathiyar Forum Special Lecture on “Food is Medicine”

The Department of Tamil, under the auspices of the Bharathiyar Forum, Kamaraj Women’s College, Thoothukudi, organized a special lecture on “Food is Medicine” on 13 July 2026. The programme aimed to create awareness among students about the importance of healthy eating, traditional food habits, and preventive healthcare through proper nutrition.

The Food is Medicine lecture encouraged students to adopt balanced dietary practices and understand the connection between food, health, and overall well-being. Moreover, the programme emphasized that healthy food choices are the foundation of a healthy lifestyle.

The Chief Guest, Mrs. Isakki Thangam, Staff Nurse, Government Hospital, Eral, delivered an informative and engaging lecture on the topic “Food is Medicine.”
