Role of AI in English Language Learning – Dept of English

The Department of English, Kamaraj Women’s College, organized a Guest Lecture titled “Artificial Intelligence in English Language Learning” on 10th July 2025, at the KWC Seminar Hall. The session was held from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and began with a warm welcome extended to the chief guest, Mrs. M. Abhinaya, from Velavan Vidyalaya CBSE School, Thoothukudi.

The objective of the lecture was to introduce students to the role of Artificial Intelligence in learning the English language and to highlight the ease and accessibility AI tools provide in acquiring language skills.

The speaker emphasized the importance of English language and communication across various professional fields. She explained how proficiency in English can enhance careers in areas such as teaching, content writing, public speaking, and many others.

The session was both interactive and insightful, with the chief guest engaging students in discussions that encouraged them to look beyond traditional learning approaches. She also stressed the need to equip themselves with additional skills to boost employability in a competitive world.

Students from I B.Sc. Microbiology, I B.Com Commerce, and I B.Com Banking and Finance actively participated and gained valuable knowledge from the session.

The event was effectively coordinated by M. Kiruthika, A. Kali, G. Monika, and M. Nathiya, along with student coordinators J. Subarna Jayasree and S. Ruth Geofina.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks, acknowledging the valuable contribution of the chief guest and the enthusiastic participation of the students.

Overall, the guest lecture was a motivating and informative experience that opened up new perspectives for students regarding their future career paths.
