NSS Unit No. 248, organized the “Plant One Tree in Mother’s Name” program

On 8th July 2024, Kamaraj Women’s College in Thoothukudi, under NSS Unit No. 248, organized the “Plant One Tree in Mother’s Name” program. Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, launched on World Environment Day. He appealed to citizens and people worldwide to participate in the tree plantation initiative with their mothers, celebrating both motherhood and the environment. This small act can help fight climate change, reduce pollution, and make our surroundings greener. Our college has implemented the planting work on our campus. Dr. M. Vanmathi, the Principal of KWC, along with the students, planted saplings. Dr. P. Aruna Devi, the NSS Program Officer, organized the program and explained the “Plant One Tree in Mother’s Name” initiative.
